The Julia B. King Scholarship Fund had its origin in 1984 at the 32nd Blackwell Family Reunion when Julia B. King and Mrs. Paul S. Blackwell (Willa Mae) announced their donation of a $1,000 certificate to be placed in an interest bearing account to fund college scholarships from the accrued interest to Blackwell family members. Since then, the Julia B. King Scholarship Fund has been funded by raffles; sales of Blackwell t-shirts, caps, tote bags, clocks, at-home teas and dance parties, silent auction, a percentage of dues collected, etc., and generous donors, including handcrafted afghans (Arlene Jones). 

There are many young people who need our support and encouragement and they are family. In the spirit of those family members who had the vision to inspire our future, we charge each chapter or branch to consider establishing a chapter or branch scholarship program to students from your area with some type of award, and individual donations are always appreciated.
